FAQ
What does SubOps do?
SubOps is a recovery operating system for logistics contractors. It reads your FedEx Ground settlement statements, repair invoices, and vehicle roster, then surfaces exactly where money is being lost — with evidence linked to every finding. You get a review queue of confirmed variances, a weekly Owner Brief, and dispute-ready evidence packs.
Who is SubOps for?
SubOps is built for FedEx Ground subcontractors — both P&D CSPs running 5–30 routes and Linehaul TSPs running 10–40 vehicles. Amazon DSP integration is in development. Multi-terminal operators running CSP + DSP + Flex under one entity are a core supported use case.
Do I need MyGroundBiz portal credentials?
No. SubOps works on Path B ingestion — you upload the settlement PDFs you already download from MyGroundBiz. No portal credentials, no carrier integration, no approval process.
How does SubOps use AI?
SubOps is AI-assisted, not AI-native. AI is used in three specific places:
- Structured extraction — standard settlement PDFs parse through deterministic validation; OpenAI is reserved for unknown layouts, degraded scans, and repair invoices
- Narrative drafting — AI drafts the plain-English summary in the Owner Brief
AI is never used for dollar math, rule execution, or fitment matching. Every user-facing dollar figure is deterministic and traceable to a source document.
Does SubOps handle my payroll data?
Yes, if you choose to upload it. Payroll data (W-2 information) is encrypted at rest and tenant-scoped. Every read and write is auditable. SubOps does not share, aggregate, or train on customer payroll data.
What's the pricing model?
Flat monthly plans — $99 Audit, $199 Growth, $349 Scale — plus a success-fee gainshare (25% on settlement recovery, 20% on invoice-audit savings). A fleet add-on is $8/vehicle/month. Gainshare applies only to verified recoveries: no savings, no fee.
How does the dispute process work?
SubOps does not file disputes for you. It provides evidence packs — the specific PDF page, line, calculation, and variance for each finding. You export the pack and take it to your BC (Business Contact) at FedEx. SubOps tracks the dispute through resolution in your recovery ledger.
What settlement data does SubOps handle?
FedEx Ground settlement PDFs, which include stop-level charges, contractual rates, fuel surcharges, adjustments, and credits. SubOps extracts structured line items, runs rules against them, and produces findings. Raw PDFs are stored with tenant isolation.
Do I need to upload my contract or rate table?
You can, and it makes rate-based findings stronger. SubOps supports a Contract Pay Table flow where you upload your ISP Agreement, Schedule C / Attachment C-1, rate card, or amendment, or enter five quickstart fields manually. You can also skip into a calibrating state, but rate-backed findings stay limited until you upload or manually confirm rates. Inferred-rate promotion is follow-on work, and no extracted or inferred rate becomes authoritative until it is confirmed.
Is SubOps approved by FedEx?
No. SubOps is an independent contractor tool — not a carrier-approved system, not a billing-dispute service. It is a recovery-operations platform that works on artifacts you already possess. SubOps does not claim carrier approval or endorsement.
How does the fitment engine work?
The fitment engine maps vehicle VINs to eligible part SKUs using deterministic rules — not AI. It has an F1 score of 1.0 on a ground-truth corpus of 100+ VIN-to-part pairs. When the match is uncertain, the engine surfaces a Low-confidence chip rather than guessing.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is yours. SubOps provides a standard data export on cancellation. After a 30-day retention window (for dispute-resolution continuity), tenant data is purged from production systems.
Can I try SubOps before committing?
Contact us for a guided onboarding session. SubOps does not currently offer a self-service free trial, but we do walkthroughs with your own settlement data so you can see real findings before committing.
